I’ve been looking for an easy way to split facial animation morphs into Left and Right separated morphs in Lightwave modeller. e.g. I usually model the morphs with symmetry enabled, for example the brow and eye shapes, or the mouth open shape and then split the morph into a separate left/right morph. This means when animating you can choose one of the three shapes, or a combination depending on what you’re doing.
Usually the splitting into two separate morphs is a pain - copy each morph twice. Select each copy one at a time, select the side of the face to mask, clear the map for those points. On the linked site there’s a small LScript which automates this for all your morphs - select the ones you want, enter a prefix, use a weightmap to do the masking and bam! Done. Very handy.
Better yet you can use the weightmap to distribute the left morph partially onto the right side of the face and vice-versa. You only need one weightmap as the script includes an “invert weightmap option”. Aside from being a little slow, and not letting you select which morphs to duplicate (it’s one or all) this is an awesome plugin.
